Ajay Mathur doesn’t show his face on the new music video for his hit song, “Nothing Really Matters.” The Swiss rock artist chose delicately bleak imagery seamlessly syncopated with drums that sink and resurface through an ocean of memory. Mathur recollects the moments in which change is imminent; the loss of a lover despite an immense effort, the loss of a country in apathy etc. Glass plates shatter in remembrance of the violence of an abusive relationship, rain pitter-pattering in perfect alignment with a patient high hat. Mathur makes it easy to lose yourself in moments.
